ABOUT

John and Elizabeth are veteran missionaries to Africa involved in leadership training. After six years of pastoral ministry in the USA, they moved to Ndola, Zambia to join the faculty of the Theological College of Central Africa, which is one of the premiere accredited Bible colleges on the continent. There John served as lecturer (1997–2007), Registrar (98–01), and Academic Dean (01–07). Elizabeth taught both freshman English in the college and Bible in the student "Wives' Programme." Leaving Zambia in 2008 because of air pollution and resultant health problems, they served a semester as visiting lecturers at Namibia Evangelical Theological Seminary in Windhoek, Namibia (Jan–June 2008). Now assigned to Kenya, they continue to work with the African Church in theological education.

John and Elizabeth are members of the Presbyterian Church in America and have three children: Martyn (1988), Beth (1990), and Daniel (1992).

MINISTRY

John is on the faculty of Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology, teaching Old Testament and Hebrew. He is a graduate of Calvin College (BA), Covenant Theological Seminary (MDiv, ThM), and the University of Stellenbosch (DTh). Elizabeth holds an MA in Missions from Columbia International University. Besides their ministry in the academic setting, John has done a lot of preaching in churches and at Bible conferences.

Elizabeth has taught Sunday School and ladies' Bible classes for years. In Zambia she developed a children's library and weekly reading program. Because of her concern for Africa's orphans, she also spent much time helping a day-school for street children and orphans.

PERSONAL MESSAGE

In 2004 missiologists estimated that the African Church (sub-Sahara) was growing at a rate of 300,000 new members every two weeks. This stunning statistic shows that there is a desperate need to train more pastors, Bible teachers, Bible translators, and Church leaders. We feel greatly privileged to play a small role in helping the African Church meet her need and guard against the threat of Islam and the cults.

We say "thank you" from the heart for encouraging us by your prayers and gifts. We are grateful for each and every partner who joins us in this fruitful work.
