DURATION:

Jessica will finish this initial training with Y.W.A.M. at the end of December.  At which time she is praying she will have a clearer direction on where God would have her begin her international service as a missionary.

LOCATION:

This training is divided into two phases.  The first phase called the Lecture/Classroom phase is taking place in Kona, Hawaii.  The second phase, called the Outreach phase location is yet to be determined as students will pray and discern where God would have them go for outreach.

STATUS:

40% funds raised. 1/8 time fundraising and 7/8 time field work.

Jessica McFalls is currently participating in a Discipleship Training School with Y.W.A.M. (Youth With A Mission) located in Kona, Hawaii. This course will offer more intense and in-depth training and equipping for future service in the mission field both locally and abroad. For more details concerning this training please read below. MINISTRY

Y.W.A.M. is a mission sending organization mobilizing people, especially youth to reach the entire world with the Gospel. Their emphasis is on pioneering new ministries and outreaches in places where the Gospel has not yet been heard. One of the ways this is done is by equipping and training people to go out into the world. This is done first through the required DTS (Discipleship Training School) and then if the student desires through more intensified and specific courses available through Y.W.A.M.’s University of the Nations.

At this time Jessica is going through the DTS. It is comprised of two phases. The first phase is referred to as the Lecture/Classroom phase. It consists of 12 weeks of topical lectures by missionaries from all over the world. Some of these topics include Hearing God’s Voice, Foundations of Christianity, Identity, Evangelism, and many more. The second phase is called the Outreach Phase. This is where the students and staff will go out into various parts of the world for 2 ½ months of putting all they have learned into practice. The places for outreach are determined by both students and staff through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Usually each DTS will send out several teams to different places in to world. Another interesting fact is that the particular DTS that Jessica is currently involved has students from over 20 nations including USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, and more.
